After graduating from Indiana University in 2002, Brian fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a Financial Advisor. He was mentored by his grandfather and learned the importance of integrity, honesty, and discipline while working with local families and businesses. His passion for working with clients to help them with financial stewardship, generational wealth management, and business services continues to grow. Brian is married to his wife, Kirsty and they have three children, Thatcher, Beckett and Georgia. He spends his time enjoying the outdoors with the family, playing platform tennis, and golfing. Brian was a participant in Robert Crown Center programs as a child and is honored to help with the mission of educating kids to obtain the knowledge, attitude, skills, and habits to make healthy mental and physical choices.
Julie Beck is a proud University of Illinois alum and passionate marketer and sales executive. She spent her first twenty years at Procter & Gamble, Johnson & Johnson and Kraft in various sales and marketing roles. For the last 5 years, Julie was the GM for a national sampling company which provided in store labor for grocery retailers around the country to conduct sampling events. She is currently the V.P. of Sales, North America at Wilton Brands. Julie resides in La Grange with her husband and three children, twin boys and a girl. She spends her time volunteering at school and church and for the National Parkinson’s Foundation. She chose to serve the board of the Robert Crown Center because she believes RCC recognizes the important health issues facing children and provides the education and resources for addressing tricky issues in schools and families.
Sasha Bigda is the Senior Director of Corporate Communications and Media Relations for USG Corporation where she leads strategic communications programs. She has a background in organizational positioning, reputation and thought leadership, crisis and issues management, public affairs, and government relations. She is a graduate of Western Illinois University where she received a B.A. in Communications. In addition to her work with the Robert Crown Center, she sits on the board of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Center for Corporate Citizenship and is a member of the National Association of Manufacturers, International Association of Business Communicators, and the Public Relations Society of America.
John Bucheleres is Founding Principal of Triton Real Estate Partners LLC ("Triton"), a Chicago-based commercial real estate investment firm that specializes in the acquisition, syndication, and operation of value-add commercial real estate. John first founded the private-equity firm Triton Capital LLC, the predecessor of Triton Real Estate Partners LLC, and previously was a principal of JSQ Commercial LLC and JSQ Advisors LLC, overseeing asset management, property management and leasing for the fund’s assets. John has a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Kansas school of business.
Melissa Covert is Vice President and Senior Client Advisor for BMO Harris Private Bank in Hinsdale. She works closely with high net worth individuals and businesses assembling the teams to provide comprehensive financial solutions through customized lending, trust and estate planning, and investment services. Covert, who earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois, has over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry. She resides in DuPage County with her husband and two children and volunteers in a number of community outreach programs in Chicago. She attended RCC as a student and believes it is critical for children and teens to be educated on the physical changes they will experience as they mature and to be aware of the potential dangers of substance use.
Mary Beth DeBord
Mary Beth De Bord is the Vice President and General Counsel of PROtential, LLC, a strategic marketing firm in St. Charles, IL. Mary Beth received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and her Juris Doctorate from Indiana University. She has practiced business and corporate law in private practice and corporate settings. The mother of four sons, her passion is to educate youth and their families on the social, emotional, physical and mental health issues facing youth today. She resides in Wayne, Illinois with her husband and their dog, Sadie.
Graham Hershman is co-founder and COO of Portfolio Hotels & Resorts, responsible for the day-to-day operation of this full-service hospitality management company and its managed properties. Prior to entering the hotel business, Graham was with Arthur Andersen. Graham is a graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and has an M.B.A. in Finance from Loyola University. Graham and his wife Erin are 36-year residents of Hinsdale. Each of their four children have been through the Robert Crown Center’s health programs. Two of them served on the Robert Crown Center Teen Board.
Mick Kane is a partner and National Service Line Leader for Deloitte’s US R&D and Government Incentives practice. He has been with Deloitte for over 21 years serving clients in multiple industries including consumer products, energy, life science and financial services. Mick received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from the University of Northern Iowa, his Masters of Business Administration from Drake University, and is a CPA. He serves on several leadership committees for Deloitte Tax including partner admissions, national training, recruiting and has additional operational responsibilities. He and his wife Terri, live in Hinsdale with their son Austin who is a sophomore at Hinsdale Central. Their son Alex is a freshman at Indiana University.
Daniel M. Marginean is the Director of Store Optimization, PMO, Marketing and Innovation for Sears Retail Services, Sales Development & Store Operations. He brings more than 15 years of Information Technology, Strategy and Implementation experience to serve the Robert Crown Center. Marginean earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Iowa and his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Marginean became interested in the RCC mission when the first of his three children received programming through school. He began at a young age to enjoy serving non-profits and other good causes and jumped at the opportunity in 2015 to support RCC’s mission.
Ed McCarthy is a real estate partner in the Nellie McCarthy Group for Berkshire Hathaway Home Services, Koenig-Rubloff. Prior to starting the residential real estate group with his wife Nellie, Ed worked with Jones Lang LaSalle, the second largest commercial real estate services company in the world, and for NAI Hiffman on office brokerage and investment sales teams. Ed has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Loyola University and an MBA from DePaul University’s Kellstadt Real Estate School. In addition to his work with the Robert Crown Center, Ed sits on the Hinsdale Hospital Foundation Board and on the Board of the Hinsdale Central High School Boosters Club, is a volunteer coach for high school and middle school girls’ lacrosse, and is the father of 3 teen daughters.
Debra Sunderland is a Vistage International Executive Coach/Chair, Transformational Leadership Coach, entrepreneur, author and motivational speaker. She has 20 years of leadership experience working with CEOs for companies such as Hewlett Packard, Platinum Technology, TranzAct Technologies, and Partners Wealth Management. Debra works to strengthen communication, leadership and employee retention, provides conflict resolution and improves company performance. Debra graduated from Miami University, holds a certificate in Corporate Goal Coaching, Psychology, CTI Co-Active training, and is engaged in the 15 Commitments of Conscious Leadership Forum.
